Goodbye to Poppyseed, but We Will March On

This post will be short. I just wanted to update everyone that since my last update about our permanent adoption of Poppyseed, he unfortunately passed away. He suffered a bad reaction to the anesthetics used in his neutering procedure, and the vet did all he could. On Monday, Poppy spent the day fighting for his life with a team of vets who loved and threw their hearts into helping him. He died after I was able to pet him and tell him how much I loved him.

I have decided to continue with this shop, even though my heart is broken. Our family will never be the same, but I can’t stop here. I know that there are thousands of other pigs out there suffering fates like Poppy’s but who never have the chance to have a loving home the way Poppy did. And there are millions more living and dying in factory farms and slaughterhouses whose stories are never told. For them, Poppy’s memory must live on. We will continue to sell pig-themed goods to spread the piggy love and will donate a portion of all sales to Toronto Pig Save.

We thank you all for your support during this tough time. Please continue to spread the word about Le Petit Poppyseed so that we can make a real difference for Poppy’s brothers, sisters, and cousins.
